Underwriting & New Business

Underwriting update for ages 76-79: Effective March 3, 2025, table ratings greater than 4 are no longer allowed for ages 76 to 79 for Protective Classic Choice term, Protective Lifetime Assurance UL and Protective Indexed Choice UL. This change will also take effect for Protective Advantage Choice UL and Protective Strategic Objectives II VUL on March 31, 2025.

Policyholder Cap Change communication update: As part of an effort to reduce paper consumption, we have discontinued the practice of mailing of rate cap change notices to Indexed Universal Life and Indexed Variable Universal Life policyholders. We will continue to notify advisors of rate cap changes through our usual processes; this change only affects the paper notices being sent directly to customers. On February 25th, the Social Security Administration reported they will be begin paying retroactive benefits and will increase monthly benefits to people whose benefits have been affected by the WEP or GPO.
