Florida Terminal Illness Rider Change: Starting January 24, 2026, qualification for the Terminal Illness Rider on all life insurance policies issued by National Life Group and Life Insurance Company of the Southwest in Florida will change from 24 months to 12 months for predicted life expectancy. New policy applications in Florida that are signed by Friday, January 23 will get the 24-month Terminal Illness Rider. After that date, insureds will only qualify to use the rider if a doctor has certified that death is expected within one year. Learn more about the Terminal Illness Rider.

Check out our enhanced UL Flex III with longer guarantees. Effective January 2, 2026, Principal Universal Life Flex III (UL Flex III) is repriced for new-issue policies. The reprice includes a change to the optional Extended No-Lapse Guarantee (ENGLG) rider to allow a benefit to a maximum age 100.
